The close of a Great 2009 MSSS Championship but a start of another FIASCO

The end of another good Championship and Petaling Perdana is again the MSSS Champions, with majority of her bowlers will represent Selangor in the MSSM at Sungai Petani.

Congratulations to all the Children that won and to all who lost, never give up, your day will come to be champions too.

We MUST not forget the Parents! My congratulations to all Parents, who had diligently supported their children’s passion in Bowling, not only with their time and money but also having to put up with stress….frustrations…anger….despair etc…etc… Still at the end of the day, you parent will put on a big smile to your children, congratulating them or consoling them. I went through it all over again today.

However, having said all that I am very disappointed with the decision made that all these children have to go through a “stay-in” centralized training in Banting.

First, knowing very well that almost 90% of the team for MSSS resides in and around Subang/Shah Alam/Gombak, I find it very difficult to comprehend why the venue for centralized training be held in Banting? Also why must they have to stay in a Hotel in Banting? Logically I think this is a great blunder.

The organizer stating that Banting Superbowl will provide the same lane condition with the ones in Sungai Petani is a BIG Bulls**t. Putting them up at the hotel in Banting for the centralized training is another Blunder, big time. Giving them food allowance and leaving it to these kids to find their own food is totally unacceptable by me. Forget what will happen to the Team, how are the organizer going to answer if these kids gets food poisoning. (Chances is high since I was not assuredthat there will be teachers who will take care of them after the training sessions.)

Centralised training in Banting may be due to the fact that this organizing district for this year is Kuala Langat. However, they must take into account on the environment, facilities and the expenses. Having the Bowlers to stay in a Hotel in Banting, is to me a sheer waste of Government Funds, since the committee were mentioning that these funds comes from the Education Department. We appreciate the assistances, however these funds can be put to better use. One example would be to have the centralized training in Sungai Petani itself, since money had been allocated for Hotel accommodation for May 27 till May 29. Go to Sungai Petani a couple of days earlier than the planned date which id May 30, 2009. This I see as a more logical thinking by the Kuala Langat Organizers.

Or is it because they are all from Banting and that they do not want to take the trouble to have the Centralized Training anywhere else, which means that their convienience comes first, not the children.

Stating that staying together in Banting will give them that “comarade”/Team spirit is too weak a reason for me to understand. These kids knows each other, for all the years that they had been training together, being at Junior Circuits year in and year out. The three days in Banting will not give them any extra edge, as far as Team Spirit is concerned. Almost all the children selected have already got that TEAM SPIRIT in them, long before the MSSM 2009 championship started, and I do not see what the organizers can instill in them, what they already have, in 2 days.

Again I still say that the parents should have a bigger say in this. Having to skip school for the whole of this week, I am not going to let my son skip school again to go for Centralized training in Banting. I will train my son in Ampang SuperBowl at the Summit in USJ, where the alley and the lanes are close to what they have in Sungai Petani. If by not participating in the Centralized Training in Banting means that the organizers will disqualify my son from representing Selangor for the MSSM Championship, I guess I must say …”so be it”!

However, parents, all of you have the last say in this. If parents, combines and support each other and insist that the training be held at an alley which have similar setting, atmosphere and lane condition to the alley in Sungai Petani, which is Ampang Superbowl at The Summit, I am very sure that the Kuala Langat organizers will have to abide with our wishes. Afterall, we the Parents are responsible for what our children are today, Bowlers!

Another note to ponder about…………what happen to the Roll-Off for the Asian School Championship? What happened to Selangor’s representation? Besides Aziem, Syimir and Amirul, who by virtue of representing the country in the last championship, NO Selangor Bowlers were sent for the Roll-Off. For this inexcusable blunder I blame Kuala Langat, since they were given the mandate (di amanahkan) to oversee Bowling for the Year 2009!

This is my say…….what do you other parents say?

A great outing indeed. Congratulations to all our children for a job well done. The fighting spirits never fade, the enthusiasm... after watching some shed their tears for not making the cut says it all. The sport is alive and kicking. Everybody contributed to this cause; the child, teachers and not forgetting, the ever hoping parents.
Let's not allow some dark forces shadow this success or steal the lime-lights to serve their own agenda. It amuses everybody, I think, listening to the closing speech by the honorable lady at the end of the tournament; she mentioned something about 'this program' of this sport.... etc etc etc. What program? There are no such program, ONLY parents who desire to see their children excel in this sport fork out a fortune to achieve this. The schools, followed by the districts and now the state, are just hitching a ride on this effort and now they got the 'gall' to make decisions without even considering parents opinions or involvements?
The so call 'centralised' training, being 'decided' to be conducted at the 'far far away' town of Banting?( No offense intended, I was born and bred in Banting) Why one would wonder when majority of bowlers, proper and sufficient alleys(and personal coaches), and last but not least better accommodations are based/located/situated in 'this' side of the world, that it MUST be Banting?
We were told that since Kuala Langat was the host for this year's event, and since the tournament was held in Sunway, therefore, the honor should go to them in conducting the so call 'centralise' training in Banting. What happen then if Kuala Selangor or Sabak Bernam become the host? A very lame excuse, indeed.
To add insult to injury, this one JPS officer got the gall to answer queries about not sending qualified kids for the 'centralised' session with being dropped from the team and being replaced by a more 'law abiding' bowler( or parents). Yes gentlemen, and ladies, we were being threatened( as usual) with expulsion!( of course our kids were hiding their faces and 'tak mengaku bapak aku' at that time, hehe) If they can tell us that the 'training' will be handled by proper coaches 'takpela jugak', but all of us know that it is just a spin off at the alleys on their own. That is why most ( or some of us) prefer to maintain our current 'training' program... a proper one with a QUALIFIED coach!
Our last year's team were put up in a 'rowdy' hotel in Ipoh during the MSSM, exposing our kids to menacing threats and abuses, verbal mostly( thank GOD nothing serious happened). Are we willing to gamble on that again this time around for a 'centralise' training to SUIT some quarters egos or conveniences?
Gentlemen, and ladies in the JPS, please listen and learn. We nurse these kids, we use our own moneys to create a champion, we've done almost everything on our own. Don't waste tax payers money unnecessarily in the name of the sport. The initial comment is spot on with regards to training at the venue early, better decision, actually. Stop wasting time and money going to Banting, it does not do anybody any good(maybe only to you). And please, we are not 'KIASUS'(selfish) we just want what's BEST for the children... NOT for YOU alone!

ridiculous waste of government funds .
ridiculous idea .
ridiculous reasons .

i asked a number of bowlers who attended the meeting and most of them agreed that it didn't make sense . it's pretty clear to everyone that's the committee made an error somewhere but at least own up and admit it was a mistake .

One thing which made me very worried me is combine this fiasco and last years "excellent" choice of accommodation for the players... I wonder does the committee really think long and hard about these things before deciding anything or do they just do whatever that pops up in their heads . It doesn't seem to me that they really sat down and thought what should be done in the best interest of the players but instead did whatever they liked and expected everyone else to just bow down and accept it . dahlah bodoh tak reti wat plan yang munasabah, kerek plak tu .

For all the reasons that justified Banting is in my humble opinion is just bullshit lah . kalau betulbetul serius nak bagi budak train dekat lane yg lebih kurang macam lane kat SP , hantar lah diorang kat SP 2-3 hari lebih awal praktis kat situ . awat ? duit xda ka ? yang hangpa dok bazir duit kat banting tu apa ? serius bullshit .

and a lighter note . best la tgk parents and family semua kasi moral support kat everyone . serius u guys kick ass

My heart goes to all unsuccessful bowlers during the masters. Don't be disheartened if you do not make the cut. There are many more tournaments in the future and you can be assured that your turn will be next to become winners.Stay focus and continue your good effort. Keep on training hard but don't forget your studies ya adik-adik, for 'intelligent' people always have the edge over the not so one.
Have a good fighting spirit among each other but maintain your friendship, because true friends last forever. Get rid of 'kiasu'ness, and support one another whenever you can.
To the victors, do not let the victory get over your heads, stay humble and keep on working hard to ensure more victories in the future. We parents will keep on supporting everybody and will always care for your needs, whenever we could. Don't worry about the 'bickering' on the management side of the game, let us( the parents) deal with it. We sure can come out with a compromise with the powers that be, INSYAALLAH.
To all parents, and officials, lets stop all the !@#$%^&ing and lets work together for the betterment of our youth. Then, and only then can we Malaysia produce endless world class bowlers. It is a wishful thinking on my part, BUT it is a wish worth fighting for.

What I plan now is to get in touch with all the Petaling Perdana Bowler’s Parents, (those who qualified to represent Selangor in particular and all other parents in general) for a meeting, if that could be possible to address this issue.

This is my email address zainalhashim@gmail.com

Please contact me if you are interested to attend this meeting and we can organize a schedule and venue.

To any Gombak Bowlers in the team, if you read this, please inform the others.

We Parents have the powers within. We have been ridiculed by STBA04, now do not let the School ridicule us!

I have just received a very interesting comment from someone who seems to be one of the MSSS Team member. Unforunately this comment was sent as anonymous so it cannot be published.

Anyway for Anonymous, we are not stopping any of you from represnting the State to MSSM but we as Parents wants to make sure that all of you do not get short-changed by the the Selangor organizing committee.

We want all that qualified to represent the state to go to Kedah and come back as Champions. However, to ensurethat you children must be provided with the best incentives in terms of training, accommodations etc...etc...

I would love to publish the comment supposely to be sent by one of the Team Membersbut too bad it came as Anonymous!

Again to Anonymous tell me who you are in confidence? P&C. Email me by giving me your name and contact number. I will not reveal who you are but I will need to call you for genuinity. I will then publish your comment without any censorship.

Deal??

Hi Admin,

Yesterday you received a very interesting comment from one of the bowler. I think why dons you share with us what the bowler comment and let us decide whether the comment is good or not.

To me it doesn’t matter who comment in this blog, as long as the ideal is good and comment especially came from the bowler. There must be a reason why this people use anonymous or nickname for example PACAI or BOTAK.

My suggestion is for the people who use the anonymous name please indicate that at the bottom anonymous AAA or BBB, sekurang2nya we know comment datang dari anonymous yg lama atau baru, if not we akan baca comment dr org yg sama je.

The relevant issues (by parents) and those explanations and reasons (by JPS) appeared all being fairly documented here.

To me, just cannot accept "lame excuses" by JPS that best considerations being made for all their prior arrangements - and as such, we parents & kids - simply have to accept.

MSSM has been on-going for many years - if this year's committee have requested & studied last year's files & minutes - surely all those issues so called "demanded" by parents now would not have been easily overlooked. This is real shame - no excuse...a standard procedure... still not too late to buck up for future events.

So, how now...this year...already too late... we parents can only "trylah" ... but our kids definately deserve the BEST... well, can someone in JPS be made responsible-lah... tolong-lah... "Majulah Sukan Untuk Selangor/Negara"

Aslam,

TQ for your comment. However, I will not publish that comment from whom I think is a member of MSSS Team. However we can never take it for granted. Anyone can make such comments.

I have also stated that if Anonymous wants his/her comment published to contact me via email and provide me with their personal details.

You want to make a comment? Do not hide behind Anonymity. Tell us who you really are.

This Blog is for people who wants to see changes if changes needs to be. We do not publish comments just for the sake of publishing comments.

We want to ensure traceability, should there be a need to persue any issues with the relavant organization, be it JPS Kuala Langat or STBA04 itself.

As for people like Pacai. Botak etc... I know them personally and I have their contact numbers. Thus I have no issue publishing their comment since I know that they are sincere.

As for you Aslam, this will be yourlast comment that I willpublish unless you tell me who you really are, and give me your contact number too. This can be done by sending me an email. My addy is zainalhashim@gmail.com

Cheers!

Sorry Bluemoon, your comment will not be published. It’s not because of what you wrote but because you throw stones and then hide your hands away.

At least the parents that made comments in here, knows each others, while some identified themselves, so that they can be accountable for all their comments and they are willing and trying to do something to ensure that the children do not get "short-changed" by so called adults.

But I guess you are one of the people that makes a lot of complains at the back, but when there is a platform and a chance to really make some change, you keep quiet and accept everything that is shoved down your throat, but in turn you shoot down people who tries to protect and save-guard our children’s rights .

You know my email anyway, and what’s required if you want your comment to be published.

Do not worry we make no censorship here. You are free to make any kind of comments, even harsh words against me personally.

Alhamdullillah, the venue for the Selangor MSS Bowling Team, Centralized Training, had been changed to the Pyramid Megalanes on May 28, 2009. Although, it is only for a day, the venue had been changed.

I guess my email to the Encik Noor Azli Abd Rahman, Penolong Pengarah Unit Sukan at Jabatan Pelajaran Selangor, could have created an impact to influence in the change of training venue. If this had been the reason for the change, you have my heartiest THANK YOU, Encik Noor Azli. At least you had listened to the plight of SOME concerned parents.

To the very few parents who had the guts to voice out your concerns, give yourself a “pat on the back”, you made the difference! We can have the tarik together in SP one night.

I have also been informed by the Selangor Management Team’s representative that the under-12 will be staying and playing at Park Avenue. I am not sure where the Under-15 and the Under-18 team will be staying, I hope at the same Hotel too.

Thank you for ensuring the comfort and the safety of the team!

This is how things should be done, where Parent’s concerned are taken into consideration and evaluated with great concern, before a decision is made. Please remember this always, the PARENTS created these Bowlers. I say this, because, so far the MSS only enjoy the ride. We have no problems with you guys enjoying the ride, but do not push us Parents aside and expect us to swallow everything you push down our throat!

My final remark on this topic:~

TOO ALL THE MSSS BOWLERS, THE STAGE IS YOURS TO MAKE THE BEST OUT OF IT. GIVE IT YOUR ALL TILL THE FINAL FRAME. MENANG KALAH ADAT PERTANDINGAN.

AS LONG AS YOU GAVE YOUR BEST TILL THE VERY END……YOU ARE ALL CHAMPIONS, AS FAR AS I AM CONCERNED

I thought that the girls will be playing UBowl at Park Avenue and the boys will be playing in the synthetic lanes.

However, it is frustrating as until I now I am still asking around for the schedule so that I can plan my trip up there.
